Angel on a Leash

America's Therapy Dogs TM

Pet therapy is an extremely rewarding experience for all humans involved. Our dogs provide unconditional love and a calming experience during visits, but they receive the benefit of mental and physical stimulation.    It's a win-win for all.

Angel Amblers

This group is for our members to meet up for walks in public parks with your dog. It will be an opportunity to meet other members, and keep our pups social.

This group is for enjoyment only with no visit journal involved.

Please feel free to contact our committee if you see a day you would like to meet up and look for notifications when our members will be out.

It will be a short walk or as long as you prefer.

Soon we can meet up at an outdoor spot for coffee / tea as a way to keep in touch and enjoy company.

Being a champion/therapy dog team provide many opportunities to volunteer in our community.

If you are a long standing member who is looking for new places to go or a new member that is wondering what's next. AOAL Angel Wings is here to support, guide and extend expertise. We offer shadowing to visits and encourage all to reach out to us to stay active including our community events.

Currently we have several members who are actively visiting in senior facilities, hospitals, schools and local libraries.

Our Chair, Linda Somers and her therapy dog Jack are frequent flyers at senior facilities. Josephine DeAngelis and her therapy dog Lucy are frequent flyers at local libraries and reading programs.

Let's keep moving!

Angel on a Leash is proud to announce the arrival of new and exciting products. From hats and tote bags to beautiful apparel, there is something for everyone.

Help us spread the word and wear your Angel on a Leash branded merchandise proudly!

Thank You for your support!

Meet Bindi

Bindi is Lisa's first therapy dog and they have been volunteering with Angel on a Leash for just over a year.

Lisa learned about therapy dog work through her career as well as from the internet, and felt she wanted to share the happiness Bindi brings her with others.  This partnership has created an unbreakable bond between Lisa and Bindi.

To prepare Bindi for therapy dog certification,  they worked on basic obedience and then took a CGC/Therapy dog prep course.  To get Bindi used to distractions, Lisa would take her to Lowe's and the park.  Lisa found this very helpful when it came to walking Bindi through crowds.

Their favorite place to visit is the Moorestown Library.  On their first visit Lisa remarked that she was surprised at how many kids were there to read to Bindi.  Bindi found her calling and was hamming it up with the kids.  Lisa and Bindi have their regulars that never miss a chance to read to Bindi. Besides the satisfaction that Lisa gets from sharing her fur-ever friend with the kids, she is also rewarded by seeing how much the kids' reading has improved because of their weekly reading sessions with Bindi.
